Elektra Beckum hc260 planer thicknesser. 2.2kW motor in excellent condition

Elektra Beckum hc260M Classic German made planer thicknesser. This is the well regarded model that gives excellent planing results with 260mm planing width and thicknessing up to 170mm high timber stock.

Very powerful single phase 2.2kW (11.5 Amp rated) induction motor with no-voltage release safety switch. Note - the motor is fitted with a DC brake that stops the cutterblock in a very short timescale as an added safety measure. Various scratches, paint and other marks to outer body of machine, all cosmetic in nature. This machine is in excellent condition as can be seen from the photographs and has been well looked after and used for light domestic work. Heavy cast aluminium planer beds and steel frame.

Original fence allows bevel planing 45-90 degrees. Blade safety guard adjustable for width and height of timber. The original chip ejection hood and connection piece to fix 100mm diameter extraction pipe included. Fitted with 2no HSS blades which are in super sharp condition and cutterblock is immaculate. Condition is "Used" and I have included a number of photos to show the exceptional condition of belts, pulleys, drive chain etc.

In addition the anti-kickback teeth are all in undamaged condition. Planing beds are all in a lovely unscratched condition and the machine appears to have had relatively limited use over its life, with none of the usual damage and missing parts often associated with equipment of this age. Full clean & lubrication undertaken.

The planer legs have been fitted onto a mobile base unit with braked casters to allow easy movement, which is included in the sale. I can assist with loading into vehicle. Machine will fit into any standard hatchback etc.

Answers to queries etc raised. The timber stock feed rate etc are shown on one of the photographs along with other technical data. The planing adjustment is achieved via the knob at the end/centre of the planing bed and gauged by the incremental guide shown on the side of the bed. It is actually quite an accurate and easy way of changing the depth of cut. The blade-guard is assembled/constructed in such a way that it can be rotated through 90 degrees as shown in one of the photographs.

The cutter block can be used with resharpenable HSS blades as well as disposable type with the use of set screws as the blades have a groove at either end to allow vertical adjustment. The main body of the machine can be detached from the legs relatively simply by removing 4no. I understand that Elektra Beckum were taken over by Metabo (hence the Metabo reference on much of their kit from this era) and this model is from the phase where the machines were still manufactured in Germany.
